OCS Announces: A Limited Supply Of Legal Edibles Coming To Ontario Next Week

The Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) announced at a news conference on Friday that a limited number of new products will be shipped to licensed retailers on Monday.

Cannabis edibles, extracts and topics were legally approved in October but there was a gap in the items that eventually hit the shelves due to a 60-day approval process imposed by Health Canada. Items will now be made available for purchase from the online retail website of the province on January 16.

AGCO updates application process for cannabis retail licensing

AGCO updates application process for cannabis retail licensing

On December 12, 2019, the Government of Ontario announced its move towards an open market for private cannabis retail in Ontario and related amendments to Ontario Regulation 468/18 made under the Cannabis Licence Act, 2018. As a result, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) will modify the application process for cannabis retail licensing.

These changes will be introduced in the stages, which align with the timelines established by the government. The AGCO is committed to processing applications as quickly as possible with the objective of making a legal supply of cannabis more broadly available across Ontario.

As regulator, the AGCO’s priorities continue to be ensuring that only eligible applicants are licensed and that licensed operators act with honesty, integrity, and in the public interest, following all laws, regulations and standards.

Cannabis Industry Networking: Women & Allies of the GTHA

Cannabis Industry Networking: Women & Allies of the GTHA

It’s been a big year of growth for Canadian provinces in cannabis, and it’s time we took a breath. On Monday, December 16, CannaWrite along with other industry partners is pleased to invite women and industry allies to the “Cannabis Industry Networking: Women and Allies of the GTHA.” This event will be an opportunity for us to get together and share our journeys over the last year, while making important connections within the Ontario cannabis scene that will help move cannabis forward nationally. This is a 19+ event.

It’s time to break bread and make space to have important (and even difficult) conversations about how we can lift up and champion the successes, plans, dreams and hopes of womxn in this industry. In the true spirit of sisterhood, community and wellness, let’s come together over our shared love for this incredible plant! Event organizers are deeply committed to creating a safe(r) space for all attendees, especially those who are often most marginalized from these spaces and conversations, including gender diverse folks, BIPOC and those whose experiences are rooted in the legacy market.

Highlights of the night will include:

– A “pot”luck holiday dinner (including turkey and fixings!) and cash bar

– Silent auction (supporting women-serving agencies in Hamilton)

– Panel Discussion on “The Future of Medical and Retail Cannabis 2.0” featuring the following brilliant women:
