Recently Rocco Rossi and Perrin Beatty wrote their opinion on the future of the cannabis industry in Ontario, Canada, for the Toronto Sun.

The Ontario government is looking to reform the existing laws to allow an open-allocation model under which retail licences are allocated to vetted retailers on a first-come, first-served basis.

With these changes the government also modified the mandate of the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS), allowing for privately run stores.

These changes once implemented can open the door to major economic growth within the province and throughout Canada.
